At Lawley Primary, our pupils are encouraged to read regularly at home with an adult and to record this reading in their online reading diary on Showbie. Our pupils do this in the form of messages, photos and videos, continually adding to their online dialogue with their teachers.

In EYFS and Key Stage One, parents are supported with detailed notes and guidance with each book band to explain new learning (Letters and Sounds) and questioning examples. Pupils are supported to change their books regularly as required.

In Key Stage Two, children are encouraged to change their books independently from the reading scheme resources as often as required.

Pupils are encouraged to choose a wide range of genres and authors from suggested reading lists for their age group.
