Assessment
The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) including the English link governor will monitor pupils’ progress in English. This is done in a variety of ways: teacher assessment, within year group and across year group moderation and phonics passports.
All pupils will have an opportunity to write independently each week to demonstrate the skills and knowledge taught so far. Teachers will make a weekly judgement as to whether the work meets or exceeds the expected standards for the year group and this is used at the end of each half term to inform an overall teacher assessment.
