Lawley Primary School

"Planting the seeds, growing the future"

Morning routines

In Year 3, we will build on the independence your child gained when they were in Year Two and expect them to come into class on their own. They will need to find their assigned locker number and put their belongings inside. They must remember to bring their fully charged IPad, together with their reading diary and reading book into the class with them.

EMA (Early Morning Activity) time will then take place where children will be expected to carry out a specific activity whilst the class teacher takes the register.

Home/ school communication:

You are able to contact the teaching staff directly via email or through the school office. Any morning messages can be communicated through the person on the door and the class teacher usually dismisses the class at the end of the day.

PE days:

Both Year 3 classes have PE on Wednesday and Friday (Swimming). We ask that the children come in to school on a Wednesday wearing their PE kit and bring their swimming kit in on a Friday.

Homework:

All homework will be issued to the children via the iPad in their Showbie Homework folder. All pupils have weekly maths, English and reading homework. Homework is to be collected in on the following Friday.

It will really help your child to make excellent progress if you read daily with them. Children must inform the teacher or teaching assistant when they are ready to change their reading book and a new book will be issued to them on the return of the previous.  All reading at home should be recorded in their online reading diary.

End of the day routines:

Children will be released through the gate at the back of school onto Glendale.

Please note that we can only send children home with parents, unless we have received a message via the office.
